Faculty News Spring 2010

Dr. Dennis McNamara
I published a new book with Routledge Press in July of 2010, Business Innovation in Asia - Japan's Networks of Knowledge and Technology.

I then chaired a Georgetown delegation to our semi-annual conference with China's Central Party School in Beijing in October of 2009. Topic was reform and recovery following the Financial Crisis. I am now returning to Beijing for the spring semester, teaching a special seminar on Economic Sociology at Renmin University.

Will also be presenting papers at the Annual Convention of the International Studies Association in New Orleans in February, and at the Congress of the International Sociological Association in Sweden in July of 2010.

Dr. William F. McDonald
Professor William McDonald will be on sabbatical leave in the spring of 2010. He will be writing another book on the connections between immigration, crime and justice. He will continue to work out of his office on campus. He is hoping to get in an international trip to somewhere (preferably Italy so he can try out his Italian). But at the moment he has no definite plans.
