The Department of Sociology offers a minor in Sociology. Students who wish to minor in Sociology may declare at any time during the academic year. Prospective minors must schedule an interview with the DUGS. Prospective minors should consult with their academic deans.
Requirements for Undergraduate Minor
Students minoring in Sociology must take six (6) courses.
- Two (2) are required – Introduction to Sociology (SOCI 1001) and Methods of Social Research (SOCI 2901) or Sociological Theory (SOCI 2902).
- The four (4) remaining classes must include two Foundational Topics courses (3000-level), one (1) Advanced Seminar course (4000-level), and one (1) additional elective (Either 3000-level or 4000-level).
